What do Bristol, the Cotswolds and Bath have in common? During this three-day incentive in picturesque South West England you'll discover what this fascinating region has to offer with regard to culture, gastronomy and nature. We'll give you a hint: a lot!
After arriving with your party at Bristol airport, you'll visit the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery with a lovely collection of natural history and archaeological objects. Then you'll enjoy some lunch before heading to the SS Great Britain. Bristol is a lively seaport town with a long history. It also has wonderful maritime heritage. The SS Great Britain was the first iron steamer to cross the Atlantic Ocean and for almost 10 years it was the largest passenger ship in the world. After your voyage of discovery through the city of boats, bridges and the artist Banksy, you'll check into your hotel where dinner awaits.
The next day you'll explore the Cotswolds, a beautiful region of rolling hills, picturesque limestone houses, pastures, valleys and beech forests. First you'll visit Jackdaws Castle, a horse track in the best English tradition. After lunch your party will be amazed by the the perfectly trimmed gardens at Sudeley Castle, which was built in the fifteenth century. It is one of the few castles left in England that is still a residence and it is the burial place of Queen Catherine Parr, the sixth wife of Henry VIII. Then you'll check into Ellenborough Park, a typically British country estate where you can catch your breath in nature and in the luxurious spa.
After breakfast on day three you'll head to Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During a walking tour you'll become acquainted with the Roman baths, Royal Crescent and the amphitheatre. In the background one can admire the surrounding hills, the River Avon and the towers of Bath Abbey. After a picnic, you'll have some free time to go shopping before heading home.
